2008 Annual Report

For the alumni association, every season is one of renewal—for the young and the young-at-heart. This year, young alumni returned to Maryland for a special barbeque in the Dessie M. and James R. Moxley, Jr. Gardens on the university's 10th annual Maryland Day. Alumni celebrating their 50th reminisced in Orem Alumni Hall during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend 2008. No matter the time of year, the alumni association and the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center continue to draw alumni back to celebrate perennial passion for alma mater. This came to fruition with the unveiling of the Eric S. and Frann G. Francis Lifetime Member Wall, giving grads a permanent place at their alumni home on campus. The association's mission—to foster enduring Terrapin spirit—continues to be reflected in these and other success stories:

  • a celebration of the achievements of 20 individuals at the ninth annual
  • alumni association awards gala
  • a series of regional events for area alumni from Maryland to California
  • Homecoming Festival 2008
  • academic chapter and alumni club events
  • a Valentine Party hosted by the alumni association
  • a series of fun, educational and inspirational events for students and young alumni
