  • A resume or one-page biography on the nominee
  • A convincing, written statement from you explaining why the person should be chosen for the award, and describing the achievements you believe make the person worthy of selection.
  • Or, we would be happy to gather information for you. Check the appropriate box below.
  • Note: If your nominee is employed by the university please take extra care to describe in your statement his/her non-paid service outside of regular work duties

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION AWARDS

Honorary Membership for a non-graduate who has provided outstanding service to the university and the alumni association over a period of years.
Humanitarian Award for an alumna/us of the University of Maryland who has provided extraordinary service for the benefit of others
International Alumnus Award for a University of Maryland alumna/us who was born or lives outside of the United States, and has distinguished himself/herself by providing significant leadership to another country's educational, cultural, social, and/or economic development.
Outstanding Young Alumnus Award for an alumna/us not older than 35, who completed his/her undergraduate degree within the last 10 years, and who has distinguished himself/herself both personally and professionally.
President's Distinguished Alumnus Award for an alumna/us who has achieved national recognition for excellence in his/her profession or field.
Tyser Gottwals Award presented to an alumnus for outstanding service to the university.
Spirit of Maryland Award presented from time to time to a graduate who reflects the best of the University of Maryland spirit.
