| The Colonnade Society and the Scholarship Campaign joined with the Campus Club to host an afternoon tea on September 17, 2008 at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center. This event celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Campus Club and recognized the Campus Club Scholarship Recipient, Sheryl Carbone ’09. Guests enjoyed a program that included remarks by the University of Maryland’s First Lady, Patsy Mote, proud member of the Campus Club and advocate for student scholarships. Dr. Bonnie Thornton Dill, Professor and Chair of the Women’s Studies Department, presented the keynote lecture on the state of women’s affairs at the University of Maryland.
