Each year, the College Park Scholars community comes together each spring for a day of fun and competition all in the name of charity. The Annual “Step Up to Bat for Kids” Charity Softball Tournament raises thousands of dollars for children’s charities in our community through the efforts of the students in the College Park Scholars Programs. During the fall, each program chooses a charity they would like to support and raises money in order for their program to play in the tournament. During the tournament the programs go head to head with the top four winners earning the pool of money fundraised during the year for their designated charities. The success of this Signature College Park Scholars event hinges on the support and dedication of our students, faculty, and staff.
Students are responsible for raising all of the money that is donated to the charities of the winning teams. A student coordinator works with our faculty and staff behind the scenes both in the months leading up to the event and on the day of the tournament to ensure that we provide the best possible experience year in and year out.
Mark your calendars now for the 15th Annual College Park Scholars “Step Up to Bat for Kids” Charity Softball Tournament which will get underway at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012.
