Career Fair/Professional Development Day

April 18, 2013 will be the Alumni Association inaugural Career Fair and Professional Development Day including up to 70 employeers and 7 diverse workshops. Click here to sign up.

5 O'Clock Club

The 5 O'Clock Club has arranged for all Terp alumni to receive a free membership ($49 value) if you sign up on their website. The 5 O'Clock Club has helped thousands of job seekers find employment they love over the past 25 years and has been featured in the national media numerous times. Resume Builder

Resume Builder is an easy-to-use tool that helps alumni build a competitive resume and write effective cover letters by highlighting skills and qualifications sought by employers. For more information, click here.

Careers4Terps
A Web-based service providing access to:

  • Jobs and internship listings
  • On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) program
  • Resume books available to employers
  • Prospective employers in fields of interest

Visit Careers4Terps from the University Career Center home page at www.careers.umd.edu/home.cfm. Select alumni, then register or log in.

On-Campus Interviewing (OCI)
Many employers conduct interviews for full-time, part-time and internship positions in the Career Center during the fall and spring semesters. Alumni are eligible to participate in OCI for the first 3 years following their graduation. Visit Careers4Terps for a list of employers having on-campus interviews. (See above for instructions.)

Virtual Mock Interviews
This system is 100% web-based; Mac & PC compatible. Practice interviews online, selecting from more than 2,500 questions. For more information, visit www.careers.umd.edu/page.cfm?page_id=58§ion_id=2.

Career Testing/Self Assessment

FOCUS2 is a free Web-based system. Using self-assessment questionnaires, it provides an overview of your interests, values, personality, skills and leisure activities assisting in targeting career options. For more information, visit www.careers.umd.edu/page.cfm?page_id=7§ion_id=2.

UM Counseling Center
A nominal $125 fee provides up to five, 50-minute counseling sessions that can include career testing. For more information, visit www.counseling.umd.edu/Services/cslgsvces-comm.htm.
