Scholarships

Maryland Alumni Association Scholarship
Congratulations to Kwonhyuk Lim '13 and Bo Park '13, our 2009-2010 Maryland Alumni Scholarship recipients. The Maryland Alumni Association Scholarship, which is equivalent bios.cfm#hatchettto in-state tuition for one year, is presented annually to three incoming University of Maryland College Park students. Both legacy and non-legacy students have received this award.

More information about the Maryland Alumni Association Scholarship

  • Students must have a high school GPA of at least 3.5 and an SAT score of at least 1200.
  • No application necessary. Students who have been accepted to the university are considered automatically based on the criteria above. Students who are selected to receive a scholarship will be notified before May 1, 2009.
  • The scholarship is offered to three (3) incoming students at the University of Maryland, College Park.
  • Scholarship will award the equivalent of in-state tuition for the freshman academic year (fall/spring semesters only).

Col. J. Logan Schutz Legacy Scholarship
Congratulations to Vivian Wang '10, recipient of the 2009-2010 Col. J. Logan Schutz Legacy Scholarship. The scholarship is made possible thanks to a generous gift from Col. J. Logan Schutz '38, '40, past executive director and director emeritus of the Maryland Alumni Association. It is presented annually to an outstanding junior attending the University of Maryland, College Park who is also a legacy student.

  • To be considered, students must have at least 56 credits at Maryland and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and be involved in at least one of these areas: leadership/student organizations, athletics, religious/civic activities and community service.
  • Scholarship will award $1,000 to a current student at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Noblis Inc. Young Alumni Club Scholarship
Congratulations to Alyson Blair '09 and George "Tad" Greenleaf '09, '11, our 2009-2010 Noblis Inc. Young Alumni Club Scholarship recipients. Through the generosity of Noblis Inc. and the continued support of our Young Alumni Club, this scholarship is offered to alumni of the University of Maryland who seek to pursue a graduate degree.

  • To be considered, alumni must have obtained their undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
  • Have significant extracurricular involvement in any or all of the following areas: leadership/student organizations, athletics, religious/civic activities, and/or community service.
  • Have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be accepted to and enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Maryland, College Park.
  • Will award  $1,000 scholarships to two University of Maryland, College Park graduates who will be attending graduate school at the University of Maryland, College Park during the 09-10 academic year.
