Tuesday, December 7, 2021 - 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Host:
University of Maryland Alumni Association
Creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community in our institutions benefits us socially, emotionally, and financially. It also establishes a sense of belonging, trust, and dedication for individuals throughout an organization. Fostering DEI starts with a deeper knowledge of self, followed by skills to engage in meaningful dialogue with others around emotionally fraught topics.
In this workshop, you will explore:
  • the multidimensionality of identity,
  • identify and manage your own biases and blind spots,
  • model behaviors that foster inclusion and equity, and
  • learn how to respond effectively to exclusionary or insensitive behaviors.
