We all know that we have our personal elevator pitch in our back pockets and spend our free time practicing how to market ourselves, right? ...says no-one about their ability to self-aggrandize. However, it is an important skill to hone, especially during the time of The Great Resignation.
Join APAAN to learn a few tried and true "must-dos" to keep you on your toes when marketing yourself. The discussion will feature panelists Wendy Wang '97, James Wong '10, and Jennifer Jyh-Feng Tepper '09.

Wendy Wang (Class of 1997) is currently the Manager of Direct Distributions at the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C. Her professional background includes the non-profit sector, hospitality, and the arts, which includes the Ritz-Carlton, Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City, Le Pain Quotidien, the National Council for the Traditional Arts, the Howard Theatre, and the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz. Wendy is proud to be one of the key student activists that paved the way for the creation and establishment of the Asian American Studies Program at the University of Maryland in College Park.

James is currently a reliability engineer at Tesla for all of Tesla’s charging products, including supercharger stations, and has a breadth of experience with multiple industries. He has been at Tesla for more than 6 years and has had several roles, from dynamometer test engineer supporting the development of the model 3 motors to data analyst developing business intelligence tools for manufacturing and program management. Prior to Tesla, James was a technical architecture analyst at Accenture Federal Services where he helped deliver new technology solutions to government clients.

Jennifer Jyh-Feng Tepper is the Co-Founder of Lam Lha, LLC, the umbrella company that hosts LiveMudita - a consulting agency; Sapillo Creek Escape - a retreat destination and vacation getaway; and Transient on Purpose, a lifestyle brand on how to live, intentionally unsettled.  She is also the Board Chair of People and Planet - a nonprofit dedicated to supporting grassroots projects around the world. and Transient on Purpose, a lifestyle brand on how to live, intentionally unsettled. She is also Certified Reseller and Referral Partner at boodleAI and The Giving Block.

Previously, Jennifer held the positions of Interim VP of Development and Communications/Senior Advisor at SOS Children's Villages USA; Director of Development and Communications, at Trees For The Future; Assistant Director of Business Development, Board Advisory Services, while working at NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors); Senior Director of Strategic Development and Partnerships, at BoardSource.
Jennifer completed an MBA in Business from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business, in 2009. Additionally, Jennifer received an MA in Peace and Development Studies, in 2001, from the University of Limerick. Jennifer also earned a BA in International Studies, Spanish from Austin College in 1999.
