Food Recovery Network (FRN) is a national nonprofit that works with people across the country to fight food waste and feed those in need. In our 7 years, we have recovered and donated more than 3 million pounds of food, resulting in 2.5 million meals provided locally for people who need it most.

This January 15, Food Recovery Network (FRN) will recover surplus food from the annual Winter Fancy Food Show (WFFS), hosted by Specialty Food Association in San Francisco, for our largest one-day food recovery. WFFS is a large-scale private event where food vendors from around the world display their latest and greatest food products to buyers. These vendors often bring a tremendous amount of samples and, unfortunately, the surplus food often gets thrown out after the show. With the help of volunteers, designated excess food from the event will be recovered and donated to feeding those who need it most in the Bay area.

Last year, FRN recovered 27,000+ pounds of food and this year, with your help, we hope to increase our recovery poundage. We are recruiting 100+ volunteers to help recover the excess food from this event so it can go towards feeding the people who need it most. Learn more about this opportunity and register to volunteer here!
