Washington, DC
Please join us for a special evening as we celebrate the launch of the School of Public Health's (SPH) Global Health Initiative and hear stories from renowned faculty and current students on their public health experiences abroad.
Dr. Dina Borzekowski, an internationally recognized expert in the area of children, media and health, will share her diverse research experiences across Asia and Africa, including her work evaluating health education programming from Sesame Workshop.
We will also have the pleasure of hearing SPH Dean Boris Lushniak share stories from his experience leading the U.S. Public Health Service unit in Liberia during the 2015 Ebola crisis. Dr. Lushniak was the U.S. Deputy Surgeon General from 2010 to 2015, and has served in numerous assignments across the world, tackling everything from the anthrax virus to Hurricane Katrina.
There will be plenty of time to meet fellow Terps with the travel bug and spirited alumni ready to embark on their next adventure.
Join us and mingle with fellow globetrotters, learn about our public health initiatives, and meet some of SPH's best and brightest, all while indulging in traditional Indian street fare at Bindaas Cleveland Park. Food is provided and a cash bar will be available.
