Join Alumni Association Executive Director Amy Eichhorst for a "Meet Maryland" Luncheon. Hear from fellow Naples resident Dr. Patricia Florestano '58, '70, '74 about her time as the Secretary of the Maryland Higher Education Commission and on the Board of Regents. She will share her insights about the state of higher education in the country.

Bio:
Dr. Patricia S. Florestano retired two years ago after 15 years as a member of the Board of Regents of the University System of Maryland. During that time, she served as Board Chairman and as Chair of the Board's Education Policy Committee. She is former Secretary of Higher Education for the State of Maryland and a member of the Governor's Cabinet. Previously she was Professor of Government and Public Administration at the University of Baltimore, Vice Chancellor for Governmental Relations for the University System, Director of the University of Maryland's Institute for Governmental Service, and Assistant Professor of Government and Politics st the College Park Campus. Dr. Florestano was elected President of the American Society for Public Relations and Chair of the Governing Board of the National Urban Affairs Association.  She is an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration.
