ft lauderdale beach sweepJoin fellow Terps and do your part to protect one out of 567 beaches in the state of Florida on Saturday, April 14th from 7 - 11 a.m. at the Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep. During February's Beach Sweep, over 250 volunteers picked up 100 pounds of trash, 20 pounds of small recyclables and 12,000 cigarette butts. The Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep (Beach Sweep America, Inc.) is partnered with the City of Fort Lauderdale and has run a monthly beach sweep for over two years. Every month, anywhere from 80 to 200 volunteers participate in the sweep. Buckets, pickers and gloves are provided to all participants.
