Join UMBA as we partner with the Banneker-Douglass Museum, the state’s official African American Museum, to give back on Martin Luther King’s Day of Service.

On this day, attendees are asked to join us at the museum, donate nonperishable food items and participate in docent guided and self-guided tours of this historical space. This is a family friendly event and service learning hours will be available for Maryland middle and high school students.

Attendees are welcome to drop in and visit the museum from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. However, docent guided tours will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Space is limited for docent guided tours.

Donations:
Food donations will be accepted at the Banneker Douglass Museum during the hours listed above. Donations will benefit the Lighthouse Shelter in Annapolis, MD. Donations may include canned foods (beans, vegetables, fruit, tuna), peanut butter, hot and cold cereal, and 100% juice. The Banneker-Douglass Museum is located in the old Mount Moriah A.M.E. Church at 84 Franklin Street in Annapolis (off Church Circle in the Annapolis historic district).

From Baltimore:
I – 97 South to U.S. 50/301 East
U.S. 50/301 East to Exit 24, Route 70 – Rowe Blvd.
Bear right at bottom of ramp onto Rowe Blvd.
Continue straight on Rowe Blvd. and bear right at intersection
At the traffic signal bear left onto Northwest Street
Turn right onto Church Circle
Turn right onto Franklin Street

From Washington, D.C.:
U.S. 50/301 East to Exit 24, Route 70 – Rowe Blvd.
Bear right at bottom of ramp onto Rowe Blvd.
Continue straight on Rowe Blvd. and bear right at intersection
