As year-end approaches, many people look for ways to combine their charitable giving with a desire to save on taxes. For the charitably minded, there are a few strategic ways of giving that can accomplish both goals. Join us to learn about charitable tax strategies with financial advisor, Melanie Folstad ‘92. Melanie will discuss the tax benefits of various giving approaches, leveraging both cash or non-cash assets. You will learn how to give more without donating more to your favorite charitable organizations!

Melanie is a senior vice president and financial advisor with RBC Wealth Management. With more than 20 years of financial services experience, Melanie focuses on advising her clients from their careers through their retirement years, and has a special interest in crafting philanthropic giving strategies. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and an MBA from The George Washington University. Melanie has also earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® and CFP® designations. A dedicated member of her local community, she is Immediate Past Chair of the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce and serves as a board member for the Community Foundation of Montgomery County.
