Think of your business as forming and having a band. In this webinar, Bauer Entertainment Marketing’s President Brian Bauer ’06 will offer valuable lessons for leaders of every kind of business by analyzing the various challenges and successful growth strategies in entertainment and as a music professional.

"Growing a band" is extremely difficult these days – and getting even harder.

The product (music) – is intangible and fungible.
The target market (listeners, ticket buyers) is dynamic, elusive, and finicky.
The competition (other sources of entertainment) is massive, motivated, and unrelenting.
The intermediaries (venues, labels, booking agencies) have their own agendas and priorities.

One key to overcoming such challenges is “branding.” Having a distinctive, memorable, and motivating brand can add substance, differentiate, attract, retain, and transcend. This is true for artists, and it’s true for almost every other kind of business.

Using the music industry for context, let’s examine why and how effective branding can attract fans for bands and businesses alike. Some takeaways from this webinar include:

• How to create a brand.
• How to maintain brand consistency.
• How branding can build awareness and familiarity.
• How to monitor and measure the effectiveness of branding.
