San Francisco,

For the third year in a row, Food Recovery Network (FRN) will recover surplus food from the annual Winter Fancy Food Show (WFFS) in San Francisco to provide to those in need. Join fellow Terps in volunteering to recover and donate food items on January 21st! FRN is a national nonprofit that works with people across the country to fight food waste and feed those in need.

It was started at UMD in 2011 and in the 8 years since, they have recovered and donated more than 3 million pounds of food, resulting in 2.5 million meals provided to local communities in need. This is a great opportunity to learn more about food recovery, connect with people who are engaged in social and environmental justice issues, and to help feed vulnerable people in the San Francisco Bay Area.
