Any student in any major can apply to be a member of SALC. The SALC prides itself on being representative of the university’s diverse student body with students of various racial, gender, ethnic, sexual orientation, socio-economic status and other identities involved.

Q: What are the benefits of being in SALC?

There are many benefits to being a member of SALC, including networking, large-scale programming experience, leadership development and experience working with university leadership.

Q: What is the selection process for being a member?

SALC is a selective organization. Interested students should start by filling out our application, which can be found on our homepage or https://alumni.umd.edu/students/salc. After the application process, we conduct a selection process inclusive of an individual interview and a group interview.

Q: What types of events does SALC put on?

SALC puts on professional events with various offices on campus, as well as with the governing bodies of the university. Members also have the opportunity to create and execute events that support our mission and vision. Check our our events tab for more more information on our annual events!
