- Alumni Relations: Alumni Relations Initiatives - More Than 25 Staff (Gold): Terps thrive
Judges' comments: This project came to life through the voices of those taking part. It is simple, effective, and very good value for money. It clearly responds to need and will drive meaningful change through the connections that have been made. It is a fine example of a sharply focused and neatly delivered alumni relations project. - Special Events: In-Person - Single-Day Events (Bronze): Young Alumni Conference
Judges' comments: The judges agreed that many institutions wrestle with how to meaningfully engage young alumni. This entry stood out to the panel, some of whom have served, themselves, on alumni boards, as an excellent young alumni engagement tool that could be easily adopted or adapted by other institutions. They specifically commended the mutual benefit to the alum and the school—there was something of value from both perspectives. - Special Events: In-Person - Multi-Day Events (Bronze) : University of Maryland Inaugural Black Alumni Weekend
Judges' comments: Consensus: We LOVED this entry. It was incredibly creative while adapting to the variables surrounding COVID. The deliverable items were thought through and detailed and helped bring the event to life. The amount of research and effort used to execute this project, while having a smaller budget, stood out. We did think it was a unique event style and format to engage alumni, build a community connection, and connect to one another. Great work!
