Annual Alumni Holiday Party


Join the University of Maryland Alumni Association at the Mayflower Hotel for the fifth Annual Alumni Holiday Party. Celebrate the holiday season with fellow alums while enjoying great food, beer, wine and a silent auction.

Registration will close at noon EST on Friday, Dec. 6. Pre-registration is required, tickets will not be sold at the door. This event is for guests 21 and over.

Silent Auction

Our popular auction is back! Bid on exciting items and support student success—100% of the proceeds benefit the University of Maryland Alumni Association Student Scholarship Fund.

The silent auction will open virtually on Dec. 5 and will close on Dec. 7 at 9:45 PM, at the end of the event.

Terps can access the auction using Handbid, a mobile silent auction platform. Bid on vacations and exclusive experiences, professional coaching, fitness classes, Terp memorabilia, food and drink items, plus much more! All Terps are invited to participate—not just Holiday Party attendees.

  1. Download the Handbid app on your phone from the Apple iTunes App Store or the Google Play store - be sure to accept push notifications.

  2. Create an account by following screen prompts - be sure to use your cell phone as the phone number to receive important notifications.

  3. Preview the auction by selecting/searching for “Holiday Party Silent Auction” or "University of Maryland" then swipe left to enter the auction. Swipe left/right to access categories and up/down to access items.

Transportation & Parking

The closest Metro stations to the hotel are the Farragut North Metro station, located on the Red line; the Farragut West station on the Orange, Silver and Blue lines.

If you choose to drive, the hotel offers valet service. Event day rate of the event $40 (and $69 overnight). Off-premise parking is also available. A 24-Hour PMI parking garage is located about 20 feet away from the hotel entrance and offers a daily rate of $25 and $35 overnight.

Do not drink and drive—we encourage everyone to consider using public transportation or rideshare services. We will provide a discount UBER code to registered attendees 48 hours prior to the event.

Refund Policy

Ticket refunds are not available for this event. However, as a special benefit, Alumni Association members may receive a refund up to 10 days prior to the event date.
