How It Works
What You'll Receive
Once registered, you'll receive mail with a Terp shell bingo board and a UMD branded bookmark.
Note: Register by May 15 to receive materials by June 1. Register by June 1 to receive materials by June 15.
How You'll Participate
As you read throughout the summer, keep track of the books you read through the bingo board and reading log. Mark off a category correlated to your book. Once you have at least FIVE categories marked off, you can submit to the raffle.
*Alumni Association members get a free space in the shell's center
Anyone in the Terp community. Feel free to pass this along to your fellow Terps and make it a summer reading competition.
- Register to participate and you will receive materials mailed to your preferred address including a Terp shell bingo board, reading log and a branded bookmark.
- Read throughout the summer and mark off your shell with the correlating genre or descriptor, and fill out your reading log.
- Submit your completed bingo board by August 31. You need to cross off at least five categories to submit. Extra entries can be submitted if you refer a friend or tag us on social media.
You can enter the raffle by sending your Terp shell bingo board to us (with at least five sections/categories filled) via this Google Form by August 31.
You can also gain raffle entries by:
- Posting a picture of you reading this summer, your Terp bingo shell OR your bookmark on social media using the hashtag #TerpsRead or #TerpSummerReadingChallenge
- Referring a friend to join in on the summer reading challenge fun
One book can count for up to two sections. For example, if you read “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” by Jeff Kinney ‘93 you can cross off “Terp-authored book” and “Book part of a series”.
