Your ring bears some of our university's most important symbols—icons that will remind you of Maryland and proclaim your Terrapin spirit.
The official class ring is only available to College Park graduates and students who have earned 60 or more credit hours. Its design remains the same for all alumni—past, present and future. Your ring will be an instantly recognizable emblem of your alma mater—it will strengthen the bonds between you, the university and your fellow alumni.

All 2026 graduates will receive their class ring at the Ring Ceremony happening on May 4, 2026*. If you'd like to receive your ring before then, please email Rosemary Sutter at rligsay@umd.edu.
*All orders must be placed by March 6, 2026.

How can I order a class ring?
There are three ways you can order a class ring:
By phone at 1-800-BALFOUR (1-800-225-3687).
By visiting the Balfour website.

How can I find my ring size?
We recommend having your finger sized professionally by a jeweler or meeting with a Balfour representative during graduation fairs held at the University Center Book Center at the Stamp Student Union. Additional Balfour tabling events will be announced on this webpage.
Can I have my ring resized?
Your ring was made to your specifications for daily wear. Due to changes in weather and physical activity affecting your finger size, we recommend wearing your ring for a while before considering any changes in ring size. If you still feel you require a different size, Balfour will be happy to resize your ring.
How do I check on the delivery status of my ring?
All 2026 graduates will receive their class ring at the Ring Ceremony in early May 2026. If you'd like to receive your ring before then, please email Rosemary Sutter at rligsay@umd.edu.
For all other orders, please contact Balfour at 1-800-BALFOUR (1-800-225-3687) or rings@balfour.com to check on the status of your ring.
What is the Ring Ceremony?
The Ring Ceremony is an annual event in May hosted by the Alumni Association at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center to celebrate graduating seniors receiving their class rings. All 2026 graduates will receive their class ring at the Ring Ceremony. If you'd like to receive your ring before then, please email Rosemary Sutter at rligsay@umd.edu.
For this year's ceremony, we advise placing your ring order by March 6, 2026 to ensure delivery before the Ring Ceremony. If you order after this date, your class ring will be delivered to the address on your ring order.
What is the warranty on my ring?
Any defects discovered upon delivery will be remedied at no charge by Balfour.
