Staff Spotlight: Jessica Roberts '02

On July 15, the University of Maryland Alumni Association welcomed one of their own as their new senior executive director. Jessica Roberts ‘02 brings an exceptional breadth of experience and a proven track record in strategic leadership that will undoubtedly help propel your alumni association to new heights. Not only is Jessica a proud alumna, but she has worked at the Alumni Association in various capacities since Jan. 2008, most recently serving as Chief of Staff and Managing Director of Board Operations.

Let’s take a deep dive and get to know more about Jessica and her top Terp experiences:

Q. What was your favorite hangout spot as a student?

A. I loved the food co-op. Not so much for the food, but it was a nice, quiet place to hang out and I could always find a seat!

Q. What was your favorite class?

A. I took a class in Family Law. Even though I didn’t become an attorney, I loved that class.

Q. Did you have a favorite local bar as a student?

A. Cornerstone!

Q. What’s your favorite Maryland memory as a student?

A. Winning the men’s NCAA basketball championship in 2002.

Q. Do you have a favorite Maryland tradition?

A. Rubbing Testudo’s nose. All seven around campus.

Q. What is your favorite Maryland Dairy flavor?

A. Sapienza, which is a creamy, rich vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate chips and chunks of chocolate fudge brownie, a smooth chocolate swirl and creme de cacao.

Q. What has been your favorite alum activity or memory so far?

A. Homecoming. I truly enjoy every part of it!

Q. What are you looking forward to most in your new position?

A. Meeting new alums and getting as many activated as possible.
