We at the Alumni Association strive to be an organization where:
1. Every alum feels that the Alumni Association is a place where they belong
2. We enrich the University of Maryland’s impact by serving as a gateway for alums of all identities, abilities, backgrounds, socio-economic classes, and experiences to participate in programs that contribute to a united, respectful, and empowered Terp community.
3. We commit to deepening our learning about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and hold ourselves accountable for evolving into the most just organization possible. As the Alumni Association for the flagship university in the state of Maryland, we feel a sense of responsibility to be leaders in this area.

Alumni Excellence Awards: Rising Terp Award Winner Oneyda Hernandez '23
Hernandez founded the Audelia Community Response Team (ACRT) to address food insecurity in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. What began as an effort by Hernandez and three of her siblings, who were working in a physical therapy clinic at the time, to help a patient impacted by COVID-19 has grown to a robust Latinx-centered organization serving more than 1,400 families annually.
