The SF Bay Area Terps Alumni Network provides social, professional and educational opportunities to Terps and their family and friends within the San Francisco Bay area. Along with the great mission of the Alumni Association, our top priority is to reach out, connect and build relationships with each and every alumnus. We are a diverse group—representing different backgrounds, age groups, interests and cultures—but we all share the same desire to meet new people, reconnect with old acquaintances and most importantly, stay connected with our alma mater.

In the nascent days of the COVID-19 global pandemic, doctors and medical researchers were scrambling to understand what treatments could help stop the effects of the deadly virus. Dr. Merdad Parsey was six weeks into his position as Chief Medical Officer at the global pharmaceutical company Gilead Sciences when they began hearing about coronavirus cases in China.
