Grad Talks With Terps at Alumni Association’s Masterclass Series

Sue Bredekamp ’72, ’76, Ph.D. ’85 is the primary author and editor of “Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs,” the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) text that continues to inform educators about the most effective teaching practices for children from birth through age 8.

Rick Marving Tamno ’17, ’20 is making sure that no child misses a chance to excel.  He’s the co-founder and executive director of Readers All, which targets first through third graders at an underperforming elementary school in Greenbelt, Maryland.

The granddaughter of Eastern European immigrants, Dorothy Weinstein ’84 learned from an early the age the importance of transcending challenges to rise to her potential.

William Ryan ’90 is now president of the board of directors at Building African American Minds (BAAM), a local nonprofit organization that provides academic and social help to at-risk youths.

Thanks to Tyler Denk ’16, more than 25,000 newsletter creators are sending out in excess of 2 billion emails every month with the click of a key. Denk is the co-founder and CEO of beehiiv, a software company that gives businesses big and small templates for creating newsletters that communicate information and drive sales.

It was Dubin who, in 2007, created the world’s first vertical advertising network, called Intergi (which he renamed to Playwire in 2014), tailored initially to online video game websites.
