Maryland Alumni Association members' dues support the programming necessary to keep alumni connected with Maryland students and alma mater while giving students much needed resources such as the Maryland Alumni Association Scholarship program. Campus Perks

Alumni Parking Permit
Parking permits are issued as a courtesy to qualified alumni.

Permit Description
Alumni must be current dues‐paying members of the University of Maryland Alumni Association, who are not students taking classes or employed as faculty/staff members on campus. The Alumni permit is for the exclusive use by the person to whom it is issued. Vehicles displaying these permits are not to be parked on this campus by relatives, friends or others who are affiliated with this university. When an alumnus registers for classes or assumes employment with the University of Maryland, they are required to return their Alumni Parking permit and purchase the appropriate permit based upon their current affiliation. Alumni permits are valid in Lot 4, Monday-Friday, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Overnight parking is prohibited.

How to Apply
Alumni must present their current valid Alumni Association Card, in person, at the DOTS Special permits counter. This must be done in person. Friends of alumni requesting permits must show, upon request, that he/she is a "friend of the University of Maryland, College Park" by presenting an Alumni Card.

University of Maryland College Park Libraries

UMD Alumni Association members are eligible for a 50% discount on membership in the University Libraries' Community Borrowers program. For a $25 (usually $50) annual fee, Community Borrowers may check out up to 25 books at a time from University Libraries. Items are loaned for 30 days and may be renewed one time if not requested by other library users.

Multi-year Alumni Association members who purchased their membership before April 1, 2012 will continue to receive free borrowing privileges until their membership expiration date. At that time the cost to renew the Community Borrower membership will be $25 per year.

Lifetime members who purchased their membership before April 1, 2012, will continue to receive free borrowing privileges, but will be asked to renew their Community Borrower membership every five years

University of Maryland College Park Libraries

Effective April 1, 2012:

UMD Libraries now offers one comprehensive community borrowers program. All new community borrowers will pay a fee to obtain and to renew library-borrowing privileges to check out materials. Community borrowers who are not members of the alumni association will pay a $50 fee to obtain and to renew borrowing privileges.

For alumni association members who would like to participate in the community borrowers program,

New and renewing alumni association members will pay $25 per year, a 50% discount.
Current annual and multi-year members will continue to receive free borrowing privileges until their membership expiration date at which time a renewal fee of $25 will be required.
Current life members will still receive free borrowing privileges, but will need to renew their library community borrower membership in person. To renew your library community borrower card, please bring your current alumni association membership card and valid photo ID.

The Terp license plate is available in Maryland! Join now and pay the member rate! Virginia residents can purchase plates directly through their state's Department of Motor Vehicles Web site.
