Terps are bold, innovative, smart—and generous. Every April, alumni from around the country unite to do good in their communities, and you’re invited to take part in the action. In observance of social distancing practices, we are taking our volunteer efforts online. Select a service project below or create your own!

UMD Student Crisis Fund
Maryland students have been hard hit by COVID-19 pandemic disruptions and need help to continue their education. As the demand grows, the Student Crisis Fund provides immediate assistance. Learn more about donating to the Student Crisis Fund at crisisfund.umd.edu.

Terrapins Connect
Terrapins Connect is UMD's online platform to connect students and alumni in mentorship opportunities. Join as a mentor to share your expertise or as a mentee to receive advice from alumni in your industry. Learn more about mentoring through Terrapins Connect at terrapinsconnect.umd.edu

UMD Campus Pantry
The University of Maryland Campus Pantry’s mission is to alleviate food insecurity among UMD-College Park students, faculty and staff by providing emergency food to University of Maryland College Park students, faculty, and staff in need. The Campus Pantry is open 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. It needs monetary and food donations to meet the campus community’s expanded need amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Baltimore Hunger Project
The Baltimore Hunger Project is dedicated to eliminating the growing problem of weekend childhood hunger by feeding bodies and minds. Volunteers are needed to create positive notecards with words of encouragement for the children. The notecards will be inserted into the bags of food for the children. Smithsonian Transcription Center
The Smithsonian Transcription Center seeks to engage the public in making collections more accessible. Volunteers help transcribe historic documents and collection records to facilitate research and excite learning. American Red Cross
The American Red Cross now faces a severe blood shortage. Donations from healthy individuals are needed to help patients counting on lifesaving blood. Learn more about volunteering as a blood donor at redcrossblood.org.  .

Meals On Wheels
Meals On Wheels provides support and safety-net services to seniors—a population that needs extra support during this crisis. Volunteer by packing or delivering meals to those in need.Learn about being a Meals On Wheels volunteer at mealsonwheelsamerica.org.

Feed the Fight
Feed the Fight crowdsources individual donations to fund food delivery from local restaurants and their staff to nearby health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more about donating to Feed the Fight at feedthefight.org.

CareerVillage.org's mission is to democratize access to career information and advice for underrepresented youth, by crowdsourcing the answers to every question from every student about every career.
