Hello my fellow Maryland Terps! Hope you are enjoying this beautiful snowy day and were lucky enough to work from home instead of having to get in the car. My oldest son who graduated from Maryland is enjoying the flexibility of working from home. My son that attends Atholton HS is enjoying another day off school and my son a Junior at Maryland is also enjoying a snow day… all of us that attended UM know that a snow day there is rare!
As I’m sure you have heard, tomorrow December 11 is the first ever Scholarship Day at our beloved University of Maryland! The biggest one day giving event in Maryland history! Scholarship day is a campus wide challenge. On our first-ever Scholarship Day, we’re counting on you to give to your favorite school or college or to support athletes via the Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund, performing arts students, veterans, etc. To add some friendly competition, as much as $5,000 in additional funding will be awarded to the college/group/school with the most donations. In total, $20,000 worth of matching funds will be shared with participating scholarship programs. Below is a list of our Howard County kids that are Student Athletes at Maryland (please forgive me if I missed anyone, I compiled this list myself off our rosters). Sorry to say, but I do not have access to include all of the wonderful Howard County kids that are on academic scholarships at UM ~ but to be sure there are a lot of them in our fantastic county that are attending our alma mater!
I’ve attached the link with some cool graphics and a countdown clock. Please visit the site: http://www.umdscholarshipday.com/ and choose the area to give that you are most passionate about. All gifts, large and small will help us reach our goal. There are also some very neat videos on students that are on scholarship, worth a look at for sure.
Thank you in advance for taking your time to check out the Scholarship Day Fund website above and hopefully contributing… please also send on to your fellow Terps where ever they may reside. GO TERPS!
