Legacy Award: Rebecca Evans Carroll Ed.D. ’66
Author, educator and former deputy superintendent of curriculum and instruction for Baltimore City Public Schools, Carroll became the first African American woman to earn a doctorate from UMD (1962). She is a 2021 recipient of the Alumni Excellence Awards. Photo provided by The Baltimore Sun, 1983.
